چکیده

An experiment was conducted with a view to obtain information of genetic parameters variation and character association for 13 quantitative traits in set 64 rice cultivars Assam. The study revealed significant differences all the under study. Highest genotypic coefficient observed trait biological yield followed by harvest index grain yield. More than 80% heritability except yield, effective tillers per plant Genetic advance as cent mean highest index, filled grains panicle Higher magnitude along considerably high indicated that these could be considered selection gain. Character studies direct 100 - weight, length, breadth, would bring about improvement Non-significant important attributes viz., panicle, length were due their strong duration genotypes, which turn negatively associated yield.  Recombination breeding recurrent selection, therefore, suggested break negative linkage order achieve further improvement. Genetic variation and association analysis of some important traits related to grain in rice (Oryza sativa L.) germplasm

The identification of genomic loci involved in control of quantitative traits receives growing attention in plant molecular breeding. The present study was carried out to evaluate the genetic variability among 48 rice genotypes and determine the genomic regions associated with ten grain related important traits. A total number of 63 alleles were detected by 18 selected SSR markers from differen...

Association mapping for yield and grain quality traits in rice (Oryza sativa L.)

Association analysis was applied to a panel of accessions of Embrapa Rice Core Collection (ERiCC) with 86 SSR and field data from two experiments. A clear subdivision between lowland and upland accessions was apparent, thereby indicating the presence of population structure. Thirty-two accessions with admixed ancestry were identified through structure analysis, these being discarded from associ...

Evaluation and grouping of rice (Oryza sativa L.) genotypes of Central and West Asia using agronomic traits and grain yield

Rice is the staple food of half of the world's population and one of the most important crops in Central and West Asia. To assess variation in some important agronomic traits and grouping of rice genotypes, this study was performed and 49 genotypes from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Iraq, and Uzbekistan along with 7 genotypes from Iran were evaluated using randomized ...

Genetic Diversity and Elite Allele Mining for Grain Traits in Rice (Oryza sativa L.) by Association Mapping

Mining elite alleles for grain size and weight is of importance for the improvement of cultivated rice and selection for market demand. In this study, association mapping for grain traits was performed on a selected sample of 628 rice cultivars using 262 SSRs. Grain traits were evaluated by grain length (GL), grain width (GW), grain thickness (GT), grain length to width ratio (GL/GW), and 1000-...

Evaluation of genetic parameters and heritability of traits in rice (Oryza sativa L.) using diallel method

To study the genetic control of grain yield and its components in rice using Hayman graphical method, 56 progenies obtained from diallel mating with eight parents (64 genotypes in total) were evaluated using randomized complete block design with three replications at research field of the Rice Research Institute of Iran in 2013. Agronomic traits, grain yield and its components were measured and...
